So, in between my birthday till now, I’ve gotten drunk at least about twice, maybe 3. Don’t really remember. Don’t really care. I stayed sober for Christmas cause I just couldn’t take another full day in bed hanging, again, if you know what I mean. Haven’t had a sip of alcohol for a few days, maybe a week. Don’t really know, but I do wonder why though.

Major state exams are in like 10 days time and I haven’t quite found my rhythm to flip the books. Don’t really know, but slightly guilty. Its most likely that everyone will pass them, cause its state exams and everyone has to pass. Don’t ask why, its just how Russia works, or maybe Moscow, or maybe just this university.

I’ve been pondering on blogging about this for a while. After reading other more famous blogs which actually is kinda informative and interesting, I’ve been inspired to share some of my own crap knowledge and shit wisdom. So here it goes.

I’m sure all of you have heard that multi million hit clicking song ‘Why this kolaveri di’ sung by that skinny twat who married that superstar’s daughter which left everyone else wondering was she blind or hypnotized or just plain stupid. Well, there has been a ton of versions or parodies or fucking replies to that hitting the net and I’ve been listening to most of them. And I thought, why don’t I share it with all of you and give my 2 million cents worth. To be really honest, I don’t quite understand the craze but it does make a nice blog topic. So fuck it!

Ok, things that happened in between.

1. My tattoo is awesome though I can’t quite see it since I do not have eyes on the back of my head and when I went for a re-tat, the dude said it healed very well and there is no need for touch up. He even took a picture of it. I’m kinda expecting it to come on the shop’s website or something like that. I’m gonna be famous. Autographs anyone?

2. Recently, the handball team organized the very first handball tournament and we, the 6th years decided to send our team in. We were favourites to win because every one of us has played for the uni team or still is. And our line up was pretty impressive. Remember when we lost our gold winning streak in handball to the team from MAI, twice. Well, this is revenge. MAI send 2 teams, A and B and we got MAI A in our group. We beat them to top the group. Winning quarter finals, we met MAI A again in the semis and we beat them again, this time in a bigger margin. In the finals, we were up against MAI B and oh did we whoop their asses. Final score, 13-4. My debt to them has been cleared and I can rest in peace now.

3. The hostel management has suddenly come to their sense and decided to rewire all the rooms and corridors after 3 fires and a few burnt victims. And their doing it one floor at a time. So we had to remove most of the furniture and stuff in our rooms and move out temporarily for about a week. Damn, did we have a lot shit in our room. We even realized we had things that we never knew we had. It took almost a day to clear and pack our stuffs. Moving back in wasn’t easy as well. There was a shit load of dust which somehow never seemed to go no matter how many times we swiped, mopped or vacuum. That took another a day as well. But the end result was pretty good. We have more plug points now and the lights installed are just so fucking bright which is such good thing. But it does take some getting used to though. Every time I walked, I keep wondering why is it brighter inside than outside.

4. I’m writing this on the eve of my 25th birthday while I’m still sober. As usual, we drink on weekends and we drink more during festivities and even more during birthdays. There is one thing though that I don’t quite understand. We were born sober but why do we drink till we drop on our birthdays? But who the fuck cares ey.

Let me show you the design.

There are 2 parts to the tattoo. One obviously is the sanskrit saying with 2 phrases to it and the other is the heart chakra. The literal translation to the saying is

न चोर-हार्यं न च रज-हार्यं न भ्रातृ-भाज्यं न च भारकारि।
na chorahaaryam na cha raajahaarya na bhraatrubhaajyam na cha bhaarakaari |

व्यये कृते वर्धत एव नित्यं विद्या-धनं सर्वधनप्रधानम् ॥
vyaye krte vardhata eva nityam vidyaadhanam sarvadhanapradhaanam ||

English;

I know this is gonna be hard to comprehend but it is something that I’ve always believed in.

The heart chakra or also known as Anahata, is the 4th chakra of the seven and I chose this one after doing a few chakra test online, the heart came out top and I also really liked the design compared to the rest. I can’t really find any other explanation for that. So there it is, the design explained.

So appointment made. I was nervous about the whole thing. Was really hoping that Sergei wouldn’t mess it up. The day came and I was up and early to leave. At the shop, Sergei was waiting with the printed design and surprisingly with vedic chants and mantras playing on the speakers. Seems like this guy is into these kinda songs. Cool. After some changes to the size, we proceeded with the inking.

Mind you, it has been a while since my last and I kinda forgot how it felt. The moment the needle hit my skin, it all came back. The sensation is neither pleasurable or painful, or so I thought. As he moved from the sides to the middle, the pain also too increased. Never felt pain like that before, or so I thought again. After going over twice on the saying, he begun with the chakra. As this was located on my spine, the pain was extremely excruciating. Every time he filled in the shading, it was like someone stabbed a knife in your back and kept pulling it back and forth, slowly. Fuck that hurt like a bitch. As Sergei worked on the tattoo, he also started singing along with the song which is just awesome. Its not everyday that you’ll get a sanskrit tattoo from a Russian/Ukrainian with vedic mantra playing on the background while he sang along with it. After 2 1/2 hours, the work was done and I was fucking glad. Looking at the pictures, I am really happy with his work.

There are a few conditions to this tattoo.

1. want it big, but not too big, tacky or gangster
2. want it done by a Russian to remind of my med school years
3. want the design with shades and not just solid black unlike my first one
4. and that’s about it.

After I got the design sorted out, I needed to find a proper tattooist in Moscow. Asked a few friends and some Google-ing, I got 2 shops. Did my research on both of them and paid them a visit.

This is what I have gathered.

Shop 1

• classy, well furnished, posh and large.
• websites packed with info and they even have a forum for discussion and inquiries
• award winning tattooist with awesome work
• seems to well equipped and very clean

Shop 2

• small and a decent shop with the basics
• websites seems decent with enough info
• don’t know much about the tattooist except he looks thin, a vegan and that a few of my friends tattooed with him with good results, but he makes you feel comfortable and at ease.
• has the necessary equipment to run a shop

You may begin to wonder why do I even bother with Shop 2 when Shop 1 seems so good on paper. The reason being that Shop 1 also cost almost 3 times as much to tattoo than Shop 2. A difference of almost 300 dollars. Yes, I’m talking american dollars. The malayalee blood in me is telling shop 2 but we’re talking permanent markings for life and I’d rather go professional, if I can get the cash. I’m still hoping for negotiations with the price as I await the tattooist from Shop 1 to get back to me with his sketch and price.

There is also another issue. I haven’t exactly informed my mother about this. It took years to convince her with my first and I can’t be waiting that long again with this one. I did though throw in the idea during summer just to check the waters and came back with a tsunami. I don’t usually go against my parents’ wishes. But then again, there is always the first time. I’ll just have to see how it goes. Maybe the next post would come with a tattoo, just maybe. Cheers!

So here I am. Let me begin with my summer. It was the best one ever and my last, cause the next time I’ll be back for good and it wont be considered a break anymore, get it? I had a solid 2 months and 3 weeks at home and I made the most of it with the usual. You know, drinking, eating and a bit more drinking. I even managed to slot in some gym hours as well. The times not drinking, eating or working out, was spent with the family which mostly meant stoning in front of the tv and eating. I also watched 12 movies at the cinema. Record breaking! Met a few old friends whom I haven’t met in ages and also made new ones. Fantastic. I also got a massage chair at home. And my mum is aware of my drinking and smoking habit, forget my dad. So you can just imagine what my summer was like this time. Awesome. Just top it all off, I’m including pictures as well. Mind you, rest of the time I wasn’t sober enough to even think of snapping pictures.

And now I’m into my final year. I’ve retired from competitive sports. Resigning from all student body post. Gonna be a total lazy ass this year cause you know, I’m 6th year and shit. Nah, I’ll probably use the extra time to drink and catch up with old friends from the other side (M1), check out the local bars here, maybe just maybe hit the strip club. Aha! 1. Intervarsity Games over and we got 3rd place over all. A good finish none the less but sadly our 4 time consecutively gold winning handball team got 2nd place. I was disappointed though but it was bound to happen some time.

2. I’ve resigned or rather stepped down from my post in the student body and ever since then I’ve been pretty free. No more meetings and head aches. The new guy seems passionate and young, probably has new ideas and shit.

3. I’m quitting from competitive sports. I think its about time I gave my joints a break and allow them recuperate. After 6 years of playing all sorts of sports and countless medals, I think I’ve had my share and I’m pretty satisfied with what I’ve achieved.

4. On the contrary, I’ve picked up a new sport. One which I never really understood before and still does confuse me. Its none other than India’s national sport and the 2nd most lucrative league in the world, cricket. Damn, this is one tough game with a lot of technicalities in between. But it is interesting and fun though.

5. I’ve got 2 more exams to go and if all goes well, I’ll be done by the 15th and flying home soon afterwards. Can’t wait for that. Sadly, most of my friends are not around locally. Don’t know what I would be doing at home with out these buggars.

See, I’ve managed to crap some thing and even changed the format with numbers and points form instead of just words and paragraphs.

Since the last post, this much has happened. I’ve already rooted my Android. In fact I’ve flashed a new ROM twice in between then and now. If you’re wondering what the hell does ‘flash’ mean and if you’ve been following my blog, you’d know I don’t do explanations. So I’m running CyanogenMod 7 with Gingerbread (google if you’re blur) at the moment. My issues with low internal memory has been solved which is a relieved. I hated seeing that stupid ass warning about low memory sign and having to think of what I can delete to clear space.

Mind you, this funny looking droid is awesome and snappy. Beats the stock any time though I do miss the HTC”s Sense UI at times. But, at the moment I’m facing some issues with installing applications bigger than 1mb probably due to incorrect flashing. Not to worry, small matter. I’ll just flash it again, properly, when I have the time, which might not be any time soon.

Now, the other thing which I have been pretty occupied with is the 7th Intervarsity Games in Moscow which falls next week. Being the sports bureau and handling a large contingent is not easy. Actually, not easy is an understatement. We faced tons of issues with training times being disrupted quite abit. Our ‘beloved’ coach or the ass who handles the training slots for us wasn’t very helpful. On the contrary, I think he is trying to sabotage our contingent. Fuck him, I’ve got a plan line up specially for him. And the other humans trying to fuck us up are the none other than our organizers and neighbours. We’ve been having issues with the flow and speed of information being to past to us. They expect us to be respond to their requests overnight while they take their sweet ass time to respond to ours. And most of them in the organizing committee are old friends and I hate to see this getting sour. Every year, it seems as though every other contingent hates us and wants us to lose. Or maybe its just our own head and every contingent thinks that their being hated the same way as well. Ah, fuck!

We’re pretty much in our last week of training and I really hope we do well this year. I’ve done my best to help these ‘Lions’ through and I really want them to do some justice to themselves and regain our pride. Every year, we face the same problems. We have an awesome team of players and every year we fuck it up somehow when it matters the most. Last year, we did the best ever. We were in most of the finals though we only got 1 gold from it, it was an eye opener to what we are capable of. Ahh, I can’t wait for the games to prove ourselves. Cheers Lions, we can do it.

Holidays are over and life resumes to its routine. I had a solid winter break even though I did not travel anywhere. Chilling here with some friends wasn’t so bad and I never did feel bored. On the other hand, I felt that time flew by these 2 weeks. Weather is a bitch. Classes are tiring and lectures are boring. My weekends are pretty much packed except on Sunday where is just sit in my boxers and stare at the screen. Haven’t been hitting the gym due to the heavy cycles. So what else is there? Nothing. So why am I blogging when I’ve nothing to tell. I don’t even know.

Ahh, Valentines Day just passed and I did nothing. Cool!

Men’s day is about to come and I don’t think I’ll do anything. Yeah!

Aha, last week during the futsal league I scored the only goal which won the match. It was the title deciding match and winning this could prove the champion for this season. It was a tense game but I held my cool and curved in shot from almost three quarters of the court. I stood there and watch as the ball curved its way pass the goalies fingers into the net. Did I mention that it curved? It was a curler. It curved. So we won that match thanks to my curving shot. Owh, how I smiled myself to bed that night thinking of that curving ball. The only sad part was that there was no video that week. Fuck! Of all the weeks, it had to be this one. Whatever bitches!

And to those noobies who don’t know how to do it and since I don’t have the time to make a tutorial video, I’ve searched through countless videos and posted this one. Practise bitches.

Besides futsal, I also play handball and I enjoy playing it very much. The sad part is, it isn’t as popular as it should be. Not many people in Asia play it let alone know about it. Heck, I only started playing since I landed my ass here. So, I’m currently training with our uni team, the 4 time champions in the Intervarsity games. Yeah. we’re that good. As with all sports that I play, I find a professional player who inspires me and try to emulate him and his game play. In this case, it had to be Nikola Karabatic. Dude has won everything there is to be won in club and country level. And bugger’s got a powerful shot. Somehow, I find similarities in a way. Hehe!

You all know that I owned a HTC Desire. I’ve been pondering on to root it or not. Actually I want to root it but every time I checked the forums for ideas I get confused and back away. Damn. Since android is new to me and since I’m not too familiar with the terms, I’m shit scared if I would fuck things up. Probably would need to consult the ‘great’ HypoG on that. And you can bet that once I’m rooted, I’ll be rocking ya’ll. WTF!

So I’ve been pretty occupied actually. My house mates have all left for their holidays and since I wasn’t going anywhere, I’m left all alone. Don’t feel sad for me. In my world this is just awesome. I cherish the privacy and the liberty to do what I want and how I want. The room is constantly clean and tidy, cause you know, I’m neat like that. And the best part is that I can walk around naked. (T.M.I. ??) The past 1 week was filled with activities thanks to the women in my life. And there are more than 1 of them. They do torture me here and there, but most of the time, they just enjoy bullying me. But hey, I’m not complaining. In return, I have their company and time which I must say, I do enjoy.

I’ve got nothing much to write about actually. Just thought that I’d put in an entry just for formalities. And I really wanted to title this blog with “Rabba Dab Dab”. Don’t ask me what that means. But just assume that it involves a lot of rubbing followed by dabbing. Cheers.
